MSEG Criteria Configuration Mode Commands

 

The MSEG Criteria Configuration Mode enables you to configure a set of MSEG filters that are applied by an MSEG service. There can be multiple MSEG criteria configured, but only one can be associated with any MSEG service at any given time.

filter priority priority ruleset ruleset_name action { forward | local-terminate | offload associated-services-profile profile_name }

Deletes the specified filter from the current offload criteria.

priority

Specifies the priority of the filter.

priority must be an integer from 1 through 10.

ruleset ruleset_name

Specifies the ruleset.

ruleset_name must be the name of a ruleset, and must be an alphanumeric string of 1 through 63 characters.

action { forward | local-terminate | offload associated-services-profile profile_name }

Specifies the action to apply.

•	forward: Specifies to forward to GGSN.

The CPC request will be forwarded to the actual GGSN without any further processing by MSEG. Thus, the MSEG will remove itself from the path for that PDP session. This action is applicable only to the primary PDP context setup.

•	local-terminate: Specifies to terminate locally at MSEG.

The CPC request will be forwarded to a co-located GGSN service for anchoring. The MSEG will subsequently not be in the path of the CPC setup. This action is applicable only to the primary PDP context setup.

•	offload associated-services-profile profile_name: Specifies to offload the PDP session at MSEG, the specified associated service profile will be applicable.

profile_name must be the name of an associated service profile, and must be an alpha and/or numeric string of 1 through 63 characters in length.

If the NAT configuration has not been enabled in the associated service profile, only the proxy-anchor mode will be applicable for the call. That is, all data will be tunneled to the anchor GGSN instead of being locally offloaded via NAT. This will be the default behavior for all offloaded calls and can be overridden by specifying local-breakout for the data-plane by associating NAT configuration.

Usage

Use this command to add/configure/remove filters in an offload criteria.

There can be multiple offload criteria configured though only one can be associated with an MSEG service at any given time. The filters will be processed in ascending order of priority, and the action corresponding to the first match will be applied.

Example

The following command configures an offload filter to offload PDP session with the filter’s priority set to 1, the ruleset named test_ruleset, the services profile named test_profile:

filter priority 1 ruleset test_ruleset action offload associated-services-profile test_profile
